A 32-year-old motorcycle rider was killed earlier this month as the result of a collision with a PT Cruiser. The motorcycle accident occurred at close to 6:00 a.m.
The rider was heading in a westbound direction on his motorcycle while the PT Cruiser was driving in an easterly direction. Apparently the driver of the PT Cruiser then attempted to turn in a northerly direction and this resulted in the accident.
Police investigating the accident do not suspect that alcohol played a role. However, they are trying to find out whether the driver of the PT Cruiser was distracted when the accident occurred.
Apparently a number of other motorcycle riders came to the deceased man’s funeral. The deceased rider was a husband and the father of four children. He also worked as an engineer for a Navy contractor working upon ships. A fundraiser for the family was set up.
We discover that in many fatal accidents the victim of a crash was also a caretaker for others. Though neighbors and friends will do what they can to help family members of the victim, it’s not likely that such efforts will meet the family’s financial needs.
Attorneys will do what they can help victims and family members receive the compensation that they need and deserve. Attorneys will look into the accident and make a determination as to who was at fault. Attorneys will also negotiate with negligent drivers and insurance companies to make certain that compensation is adequate.
Though fatalities like the one above are generally the result of an accident, these sorts of accidents can have tragic consequences. We need to look out for the presence of motorcycles on the road.
