Last month in February in Escondido, California, a pedestrian was hit and killed by an 86-year-old woman driving a gold 2008 Toyota Corolla. The motorist stayed at the scene and waited for the police to arrive. Alcohol was not a factor in this fatal accident.
The 86-year-old woman struck an 18-year-old man while traveling northbound on San Pasquel Valley Road, south of Oakhill Drive. Police arrived at the scene and attempted to save the pedestrian who suffered from major injuries to the head. Their attempts were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
