Back in February in San Francisco, California, two pedestrians were struck, one by an anonymous hit-and-run driver and the other by a 40-year-old truck driver. One of the pedestrians was killed at the scene of the accident, and the other was dragged down the road, but survived.
Around 6:30am on Wednesday, December 19th, a driver hit two pedestrians near Anne Darling Elementary school. One woman was sent to the hospital, suffering life-threatening injuries.
Last month on Thursday, December 20th, an SUV drove through a backyard wall and crashed into a hot tub in a home in Thousand Oaks, California after a multi-vehicle accident.
On Sunday October 14th, all southbound traffic came to a screeching halt following a massive bus accident. Of the 40 victims injured in the accident, 25 were taken to local hospitals via ambulance and 5 injured victims were taken in critical condition. When the bus came to rest, it was positioned across 4 lanes of traffic. Additionally, the collision had removed a section of the cement median separating southbound from northbound traffic. All southbound lanes were restored shortly after the debris had been removed from the freeway.

While adults may not legally be required to wear helmets, it is certainly advisable to wear one while riding a bike, scooter, skateboard, etc. A properly fitted helmet can save your life in the case of an accident caused by personal error or another party's negligence. Whether it's a collision with a car or even another cyclist, helmets reduce the risk of traumatic brain injuries. So let's talk about picking a helmet.
