Scooter companies Bird and Lime have flooded the streets and sidewalks with electric scooters rentable through a smartphone app. Many are excited about the increased options for public transportation while others are cautious about zipping along on city streets. The fact of the matter is that you should always be cautious and exercise good judgement when riding electric scooters as the injuries sustained can be life-altering.
Gerard Butler, star of the environmental disaster film, Geostorm, was involved in a crash on his motorcycle. According to Butler, he was riding his motorcycle when he was cut off by driver making an illegal u-turn. He told ET that he, "smacked the car, went flying through the air and did a somersault and landed and it hurt a bit." Butler was lucky to come away with 5 fractures in his right foot and torn meniscus. At least, Butler was able to leave the accident with a new outlook on life. He explained to ET that the collision, "made me really appreciate how precious life is because I could have landed any number of ways that would have taken me out." Butler was not embellishing how serious his injuries could have been.
