The California Highway Patrol reported that it is seeking the driver of a cream-colored sedan involved in an accident on July 22 that claimed the life of a 28-year-old man in San Diego County. The man was thrown from his motorcycle after being struck by the sedan.
A 49-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident near Arvin, according to authorities. The July 8 incident reportedly occurred on eastbound Highway 223 near Towerline Road and involved a tractor-trailer.
A California woman allegedly under the influence of alcohol was said to have struck and killed a motorcyclist with her car. The Stevenson Ranch woman was arrested on Aug. 11 for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. She is scheduled to be in court on March 4 for a preliminary hearing. She is currently free on $100,000 bail.
A fatal motorcycle accident that occurred November 17th in Los Feliz is apparently still being investigated by Los Angeles police. However, initial reports indicate that the motorcyclist was traveling west on Los Feliz Boulevard in the number one lane. A driver of a 2012 BMW then left their driveway directly in front of the motorcyclist's path. The motorcycle rider was then unable to avoid a collision.
Southern California sees plenty of serious auto accidents, but few accident scenarios are more tragic than those that result in the death of a child. Late last month, a 4-year-old girl in Rancho Cucamonga was killed in a crash between a motorcycle that she was a passenger on and a semi truck. The motorcycle accident appears to have been caused by the driver of the semi.
